In the wake of the Vau de Vire Society’s displacement from San Francisco’s Mission District because of development and high costs, the company has found a place in Alameda to perform. Director and producer Michael Gaines said he and wife Shannon, the group’s choreographer, tried to find another space in San Francisco earlier this year but soon realized they were priced out. The pair, who founded the company in 1997, realized Alameda Point would work out and provide space for its Italian big top circus tent.
